Harmala
The practice
Harmala provides technical due diligence for people buying or selling software companies valued at $3M to $30M. I read the code and infrastructure behind a deal so the people signing it know what they're buying.
Most acquirers can't do this themselves, and a friendly "looks fine" or a score out of ten gives them nothing to negotiate with. So every issue in a Harmala report comes with a fix cost based on published market rates. It also comes with a protection the buyer's lawyer can write into the contract, such as an escrow, an indemnity or a closing condition.
The problems that hurt these deals tend to repeat: tenant data that isn't properly separated, fragile payments and logins, and infrastructure that can disappear on someone else's schedule. I've spent eighteen years building SaaS and fintech systems and have dealt with each of these in production.
Harmala stays small on purpose. Fees are fixed, there are no success fees, and I carry out and sign every review myself, in English or Spanish. You get an independent engineer's read on what things cost, and the decision stays yours.
